What if…hear me out…the UK signed a customs, border, and regulatory treaty with mainland European countries to get rid of all this nasty new bureaucracy that somehow appeared one day for no reason? We could call it the British Empire! Or something!

This would all be really simple if the EU joined the British Commonwealth.
