Candidacy = landmark. Hard to argue that point.

It’s in a list of what “got the relatively untried and unknown Obama elected.” So that and the bad luck of McCain got Obama elected. Combined with calling him a would-be god and a headstrong tragic figure, it’s just bloviating on the tired old theme of “When you were running, you criticized the president. Now you are president, and are receiving criticism.” There’s nothing insightful there. And the Greek column thing is so old. Might as well say the US is tempting Fate because we have Greek columns on our federal buildings.
