It’s probably going to take a violent uprising to get the mullahs out. They might eventually vote to dissolve themselves like the Soviets did but that probably won’t happen anytime soon.

And there lies the rub. The military is beholden to the mullahs. Just like China, any uprising (can you say Tienemen?) would/ is qiuckly and quietly squelched
