Per unit of energy released, methane combined with oxygen emits fewer molecules of CO2 than does coal (pure coal would simply be pure C).
However, what Lind ignores (because it messes with his sales pitch) is:
1) methane released into the atmosphere;
2) the use of natural gas leads to more consumption which leads to more energy use which leads to more consumption…. etc.
3) world coal use has increased along with world natural gas use, to confirm #2 above.
