The MultiState Lottery company has upped the jackpot annuity for Saturday’s Powerball to an even $500M. Almost real money.

Reasons: sales appear to be more brisk than expected. And, the annuity interest rate jumped.

The interest rates inched down a bit a couple of weeks ago after surging in early December. Now it appears interest rates are on the march again.
