I didn’t say it wasn’t historic. I don’t think it’s “the” historic event, as it’s being made out to be.

I think that statement actually says something very nice about us. We as a people have moved so far from the racial prejudices of our Grandfathers era .
We must remember though that there are still a lot of Americans who where the victims of those acts, I mean actually having to eat at separate restaurants,use separate restrooms and the such. Imagine growing up with people actually calling you the n word to your face and there was nothing you could do about it. Going to a separate school because you had to or always having to sit at the back of the bus. Do you think those young black boys and girls ever dreamed that they would see a black president in their lifetime? If only for those people I will all of the extra hoopla that surrounds this inauguration. The first Back man to become president> Though man oh man do I wish it were someone else.
