Ah, no. The “smallpox blanket” story is much older, and is (supposedly) based on some correspondence from a British general in 1740-something. The letter is no longer in its proper box in the British Museum, but that doesn’t mean that it’s a hoax.

Now, Ward Churchill did, indeed, completely make up an “Army smallpox blanket” story regarding the Mandan Epidemic.

Not so sure about that, but I am sure about the USS LIBERTY. NOT A CONSPIRACY THAT CAME TRUE!
