OK. I’ve admired this site for a long time - from the outside. I finally got the opportunity to register over the weekend.

I’m probably way, way to the left of almost all here. I just want to put those cards on the table.

The reason why I’m asking is that the folks here are verbally facile in a way I’m just not. I suspect there’s a generational divide - I’m 56 - as well.

The effort that you put into being a fair-minded individual is very unusual, in the best of circumstances. And these times are most clearly not the best of circumstances. It’s appreciated.

You’ll find you have allies on some topics. [Creationism? Global warming? Distaste for Patrick Buchanan?] If you don’t find this site anathema, you’re probably willing to think and rethink positions, and debate fairly. That’s all we ask, really.
