re: #138 eon

Somebody thought it would be cool to send Air Force One on a pizza run?

Seriously, Louis Caldera, the white House staffer who is responsible for scheduling the aircraft’s movements, apparently thought such a stunt would be a good idea for reasons he is at present unable adequately to explain. (Perhaps he sees it as a performance art piece.) He also failed to follow protocol and notify the New York Mayor’s Office ahead of time. As the WH has stated that this maneuver was scheduled a month ago, it’s not like he didn’t have time; Bloomberg is reportedly furious.

The One is reportedly furious, too. But so far, no mention of disciplinary action against Caldera.

My guess is any such action will be taken against… the flight crew, on the grounds that they’re “not really part of the gang” at the new Obama Fun House.

/I’m wondering if Caldera is another Clinton retread- the MO seems familiar from the “I did it because I could” POV.

cheers

Minor clarification, the mayors office was notified, and the mayor was pissed at his administrations failure to pass on the info to him. Caldera followed all the rules, but was a idiot for not seeing a plane flying that low would not be a issue, more so then the one that had to land in the Hudson was.
