Problem is, they’re not protesting government spending, they’re protesting government spending by this administration, on stuff that may or may not actually get government money spent on it, which they can’t completely articulate, and any future government spending which may occur.

If a Republican is elected to the presidency in 2012 or 2016, this movement will end as though cut off with a knife. Finito. Even if the Republican spends us into new, special realms of debt not yet known to man, and is actually caught kneeling before a Saudi, this will be over.

I don’t agree. Every conservative I know was sickened by the spending of the Bush administration, the bank bailout, etc. Many of these folks have had it with both parties.
