I think I made that in high school. Those days aren’t just gone, they’ve been gone. Mayberry RFD is dead.

With prosperity comes increased prices and increased profits. But we’re all supposed to go for that brass ring - make more and buy more - and if you’re caught in the undertow, you become a casualty.

Wal-Mart didn’t become the be-all end-all of the consumer world catering to people with an excess of money. Low and middle wage earners are the majority, and they want the most bang for their buck, even if it means buying cheap crap from China. The alternative is to work seven extra hours at your shit job you hate for an American made toaster. That is, if you can find one.
