I have seen every movie and every episode (yes, even Voyager) with the words Star Trek attached to it. Yeah, it got very stale. Like it or not, the new Trek has breathed some new life into it. That’s all I’m hoping for Star Wars. Some new creative talent that pushes it forward, not just making Star Wars movies because they feel they have to. (and now I’m looking at Insurrection…)

Disney’s saying they plan to pump out a new movie every 2 to 3 years, beyond just the 3 Lucas promised. And they’re looking at a Star Wars TV series, amongst other things.

Really, it comes down to why the fans hate the prequels so much. Yeah, you can blame bad writing and acting for a large part, but really it boils down to the reality that the fans had an idea of what the lead-up to the original 3 films would be and Lucas took one large dump on all of it. And I just don’t think Disney is gonna learn that lesson.
