Since we’ve discussed the possibility of arming up before Trump bans gun sales to liberals (with the NRA’s hearty concurrence, of course), I thought I would present a few updates on available hardware.

One interesting trend in the gun biz is the virtual re-invention of the bolt action military rifle. Mossberg in particular has gone all-out with its line of MVP paramilitary bolt rifles.
This is the 16.5” MVP Patrol model:

This has all the usual features of the familiar AR-15 “modern sporting rifle” (aka assault weapon) EXCEPT the semi-automatic action: black polymer stock, military sights, the ever-present Picatinny rail accessory mounting device, and a large capacity(for a bolt gun) detachable magazine. The 5.56 version shown will use AR-15 mags in fact.

This would have an interesting advantage in serious, stuff-hits-the-fan social collapse situations because it would happily shoot marginal ammunition that would not reliably cycle the action of a semi-automatic.
