The tile was safe, as long as they did nothing to get raw fibers airborne (no sawing, no burning). The plastic does a good job of encapsulating the fibers. Legal dispo$al is another matter.

In Texas, I can, as a homeowner, replace my transite shingles and throw them in the trash(!!).

If I am a Contractor, hired to replace them for a homeowner, I have to encapsulate them for disposal. Strange old world.
