The only defined OWS group was the original one, with the folks in Zuccotti Park. All the rest of them were copycat offshoots of the original, each with their own separate agendas.

Branding all of OWS with the actions of a few fringe nutjobs that slapped the word Occupy on their protest is pointless.

A lot of whole lack of coordination had to do with the idea that each was “independent,” which looked good on paper, but in practice meant that each was operating on little more than mob mentality. And when all you have to do to run a camp is get enough useless idiots to vote the way you want, then it’s easy for the fringe movements to creep in and grab the reins.
