The original comic version was so much better though. It was set on a colony world, same time frame as the Alien movies. None of this Aliens on earth BS.

Oh I agree it should have been set more in the timeline of the original movies but you had two universes colliding given that most of the predator movies took place in the current era. Add to that the scene in the predator ship at the end of Predator 2 where there was a queen alien skull mounted on the trophy wall along with several alien heads it worked to do it on the current timeline.

Personally I would have liked to see it follow the AVP novels vs doing what they did but the first one was not terrible.
