The evidence so far points to a justified shooting. However, I would like to know where the claims of not calling ambulance stem from and whether they stand up to scrutiny.

Those should be investigated. What I think might have happened is the police wanted to recover the gun before anything else, to make sure that they had the evidence to back up what they’d seen happen. Or they might have put in a call but the ambulance was delayed.

This is all supposition, though.
