I don’t see anything amiss with this logo. It’s subtle, understated - but to me that’s perfectly in keeping with the solemn aspect of the day and conveys respect.

I’m not sure that incorporating it into their logo would have got them any praise either. In that case they would probably have been accused of ‘making it all about them’ or some such.

Do people think that there was a meeting at google in which they discussed how to mark the day while conveying the minimum possible respect? The way to do that, surely, would have been not to bother at all.

Except a yellow ribbon has nothing to do with fallen soldiers. Other than that, it’s cute.
