It worried me for a moment, then I checked the guy’s tweets. Nothing dangerous. And 9 is a good age to start teaching a child to shoot. Provided that the teacher is careful and properly supervises and instructs the child, there is no problem.

I’m guessing the objection is that the girl is apparently being given pictures of Alan Colmes to be used as targets. Obviously, there’s no danger that this in and of itself is going to turn the girl into a social liability, but in my opinion it is rather distasteful.

Recreational shooting when I was a wee lad was always something that was fun and exciting, but never frivolous. I think if I had asked to shoot at pictures of people, my dad would have asked me why I wanted to do that, and when I was unable to come up with an answer that didn’t sound like something out of Beavis & Butthead (huhuh that would be cool huhuhhuhhhuh) he would give me the look of disapproval ಠ_ಠ and that would be the end of that.
