I think this is exactly the kind of area where you need government to step in and regulate the extent to which this kind of approach is acceptable. Clearly it’s not a bad idea to incentivize people to behave in healthy ways *to some extent*.

The problems begin when you allow companies to take it too far. At the end of the day, it turns into the same kind of system that finds creative ways to deny high-cost treatment to serious conditions.
