His math skills are horrendous. He did ok before the schools here did this “integrated math” insanity(which they ditched this year) but he really struggles with anything beyond the basics.

That’s going to hurt his chances at any kind of real job. I’d strongly suggest a remedial class at even that local tech college. He’s going to need at least up to basic algebra if he wants to do anything even somewhat technical.
