If there’s a homeowner’s association with rules forbidding the cheerful colors, then the neighbors would have a leg to stand on. Since there was no mention of such a rule, then I assume it doesn’t exist, ergo they can go piss up a rope.

I guess they’ve never heard of San Francisco’s painted ladies, and they would totally hate the riotously colorful Victorian houses along the Jersey Shore.
