That recipe is way too heavy on every kind of dairy there is. I think the recipe that I used also required a can of sweetened condensed milk. Anyway I never made it again. There are other pound cake recipes that are much easier and don’t require a bunch of very rich and heavy ingredients. I like this one from Ina Garten, which I make with non-dairy substitutes and it comes out very good.
Ina Garten is one of my mom’s favorite chefs. And as my mom has never made a bad meal in my very brief 37.5 years of life, I think that’s a fair assessment of her veneration.
