One wonders if Syria is going to complain to the United Nations that they are being invaded. Regardless of what the UN thinks of Assad, it doesn’t really care too much for overt invasion of a member state.

On the other hand, the US also holds a veto on the Security Council, and the GOP has long thought the UN to be nothing more than an anti-American organisation.
