Was it really a mile wide? I’ve never been through a tornado of any sort. Did go through some black skies and a lot of anvil clouds in North Dakota about 20 years ago. That was kind of… spooky.

Most tornados are spikes or ropes which are f-1s and f-2s. When you get something a mile wide it is a “wedge”, “big wedge”, or “maxi-wedge”. Those are f-4s and f-5s.

With those, you are either lucky or dead.
