When will the court address “relevance” in the context of the P.A. and NSA metadata logging?

When a court case comes before them that addresses it.

That’s still just as assertion, unproven in open court. When that happens I will be more impressed than I am today. Sure the judiciary may save us but that’s supposed to be more of a last resort.

The judiciary isn’t supposed to be a ‘last resort’. They’re supposed to rule on stuff. And there has been plenty of rulings on 4th amendment issues by Kagan and Sotomayor already.

Lot’s of attention to bigotry and insulting signs at the rally. Very little attention to reasonable efforts to assess the legalities and return to our previous civil protections. Like the legislative proposal efforts of the ACLU.for instance.

What ‘previous’ civil protections are you talking about? Pen registers have been the law of the land for a long, long time, the FBI has infiltrated group for a long, long time, etc. What period of time do you see a right to privacy being established in the US?
