Why in God’s name does the Republican Party cater to these nuts? The damage done to the party’s credibility with the mainstream far outweighs the small percentage of votes they gain. And I’m not even sure they gain any votes by supporting these measures. It’s not like creationists are going to support the Democrat’s abortion stances.

They are not much different than the left, really. It’s just the flip side of the same coin- busy bodies trying to tell the rest of us how to live our lives.
