Going into the first debate, as long as Romney didn’t shit himself on stage, he would have probably been considered the winner, because everyone assumed Obama would destroy the robot.

At this point, Obama has essentially completely flipped the script. Romney’s now the DEBATE KING and he’s clearly getting cocky on the campaign trail. As long as Obama isn’t as “bad” as he was last Wednesday, it’s going to be seen as a loss for Romney.

And considering Romney bet his entire campaign on the premise that the debates would be all he needed to win, just one loss in a debate could be devastating.

I don’t want to sound like Al Gore or any other debate excuse-makers out there…..but are we absolutely sure this wasn’t part of the plan.

Eh, probably not. Just a weak showing from Obama that has some fortuitous after-effects.
