My problem is just how much will this simply make people like him more? Because I keep coming away with the idea that the fever with Trump is emblematic of an increasing tendency by Americans for deifying Assholes. Sure, they hate assholes they know personally, but they seem to absolutely go ga-ga for them when they have an opportunity to give them power or adoration from afar. Like equating someone’s assholishness with strength and steadfastness.

It will make a few, mostly old, mostly white. mostly men, like him as much as they already do.

The future belongs to the young, who are less old, generally less white, and less sexist.

I plan to live in the future.
