I take it that members of #tcot are self-selected?

People sending tweets use that tag to reach like-minded others.
People reading tweets can use that tag to have a tweet stream made up of just tweets using that tag, to see what others are saying.

Which is why I append the #tcot tags to my retweets, to get them into that stream.
