re: #73 Locker

Not being familiar with Kurt Nimmo I did as suggested and google him for evidence of a “far left nutjob” and “antisemitic writing”. I saw some entries where the word Zionist is used frequently.

Not being in the loop I’m wondering about this word. Is it like the “N” word in the sense that if you are Jewish you can use it and it’s fine but if you aren’t Jewish and you use it then the connotation is negative?

Just curious as to the prevailing opinion.

Look up the word “Zionist” in its dictionary definition. It means someone who advocates the creation (or since 1948 preservation) of a Jewish state. Many Zionists aren’t Jewish. If the word “Zionist” used to describe someone who believes Israel should continue to exist as a Jewish state, it is simply descriptive. It is often used that way here on LGF, in case you have missed that.

If it’s used like it’s used on Nimmo’s site (and a few college campuses), context shows it means Palestinian-baby-killing war-mongering-world-controlling, the connotation goes well beyond merely “negative”. It is anti-Semitic plain and simple. It is hard to look at Nimmo’s page and not notice what HE means by “Zionist”.

This word usage has nothing to do with whether you are Jewish or not. Jews who proclaim themselves “anti-Zionist” are as guilty as anyone else who claims that title. (Of ignorance, at best.) Since 1948, to proclaim yourself an “anti-Zionist” means that you wish the existing Jewish state to be destroyed, or at least “erased from the pages of time”.
