It’s not always the mean cop kills the dog foolishly.
I just tried to find a link to a SWAT incident. Can’t find it. Too many years ago. In short-Meth lab raid, 4 man stack enters, #1 man gets bit badly by a pit bull just inside. A fighting dog. The cop tries to fend off the dog, winds up shooting himself, the men behind him get all bunched up with the injured officer… Anyway several cops wind up wounded and the dog dead. Part of the issue was his gun was too long to engage the dog, which had him by the crotch and the big inner thigh tendon. The case is famous in cop training circles. As a warning.
