We all are, though. I support the bombing campaign of WWII even though it meant innocent people dying. Let’s not pretend that in conflict innocents don’t die and that that’s not accepted. We can want to minimize it, but in order to make war you have to have innocents die.

However, I think a botched assassination is very different, given that the entire point of assassination is killing the right person.
