The first Resident Evil was OK….like you said, a zombie film that had some good action sequences in it. The sequels….yeech.

I’ve been reading some reviews of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and so far, it seems to be receiving almost universal critical acclaim, being regarded as not only well-written, but an intelligent film as well. It’s also being regarded as superior to its predecessor; one reviewer said it was one of the rare cases where the sequel was better than the previous film.

I might have to check that out.

Definitely going to see it. I held out on seeing Rise because I was sort of soured on remakes of the franchise after the shitty Tim Burton offering a few years back. But then I saw it on DVD and was blown away by how well done the story was. If this is being reviewed as better, then I definitely want to see it in theaters.
