I’ll add a note that it’s mostly the hormonal forms that will thin the uterus lining and prevent ovluation; a copper IUD functions differently (makes the environment toxic to the egg) and is frequently not recommended in cases where a woman already has cramps or heavy periods because it’s known to make these issues worse.

But seriously, sometimes eggs are going to fail to implant anyway. A fertilized egg is not a baby. It is not even a fetus. It needs a little more development to get to that point.

None of that will convince the “life begins at conception” crowd, unfortunately.

If life begins when the sperm meets the egg, God is killing 75% of His baybeez. I think even God counts from implantation, because He only kills a few that have implanted. Of course, sometimes it implants in the wrong place, then He kills the mom too.
