I really do think Hillary’s speech is shifting public opinion in a favorable direction to her. I just looked at Gawker’s glib, snarky shitpost about her speech and it seemed like 60-70% of the comments were positive about her and the speech.

I think her unwillingness to go after Sanders might have been interpreted by some as wishy-washy weakness (which isn’t a totally unreasonable read TBH). You don’t inspire new supporters by merely not attacking their current favorite.

The long game was probably the right call, but it made the short- and medium-term look a little scary.
