I think you are misinterpreting his writing style and adding some unnecessary emotional content in your reaction.

Problem is, Walter has announced to all and sundry that Walter knows more about religion than anyone else on the blog. When people contradict him, he insults them, and when people ask him for information, he tells them to Google it.

This pretty much shuts down any possibility of a real good conversation/argument.
