We were actually discussing this as a family the other day. Most of those “perfect attendance records” come at the expense of co-workers.

Big time. So big business will complain that paid sick days will reduce profit margins. But what is the total societal cost of having people come into work sick. In many cases extending illnesses and spreading communicable diseases. Business wise what’s the cost in reduced productivity from having someone come into work sick and possibly extending the length of recovery for said employee?
