We have a NW version of Denny’s, an all night diner chain with suprisingly good dishes called Shari’s, which is better in every way except like 10% more expensive, so in high school my nerd dirtbag friends and I would play cards there at night and discuss metal or Star Control 2 or whatever we did back then

There was this super diner in Oakland when I was in college. We’d go to study there at weird hours of the night, because they had pie, and would let us light Santeria candles on the table (don’t ask).

The only thing was, you couldn’t go to the bathroom, because when we were there, the rest of the place was filled with hookers and cops coming off-shift, and we were afraid to be alone in the ladies’ room with the hookers.
