re: #172 Targetpractice

Well, wouldn’t you be, if you grew up in a country where the best chance for success one has is being lucky? Folks of my generation and younger, the ones who came of age in the 90s, didn’t grow up with the Hollywood ideal of stumbling across success. We got told that the rich were above us, better than us, and the only way you got into that exclusive club was either marrying into it or playing by its rules. Except they wrote the rules to be sure that the only people who get in the club were those born into it.

Don’t forget the Lottery!

And those that do well, are often looked-down upon because you know, Rap and Hip Hop and everything that goes with it is not acceptable.

Hey, someone’s been making a lot of money. License fees, etc.

Athletes that do well after they retire aren’t admired they way even Bob Hope was.

The way to wealth isn’t the same as it was after WWII and the elite-thinking don’t seem to like that.
