And Grayson is innocent here? He didn’t just point out the bigotry of the Tea Party. He used the very same cross-burning image with hooded KKK people in the background. For a fucking fundraiser.

a) I have not said I agree with the decision to use the image (and yes, I have seen the e-mail).
b) If there is one place I unfortunately expect over-the-top rhetoric, it’s in a “fucking fundraiser” e-mail.
c) This argument tends to come across as “he has a point but he didn’t say it the right way so I’m going to ignore his point and bitch about his tone.” I guess what I’m not understanding is that while yes, I agree that this choice of image use was not what I would have done, I think the underlying point he’s trying to make is a more relevant one to a lot of people - like, say, the African Americans who are facing the potential loss of their right to vote because of restrictive voter ID laws. And why the fuck can’t we talk about that?
