Let me tell you something I heard about Haiti. I work for a government organization that sends people on foreign assignments all over the world. My old office was right next to a training/conference room and I could usually hear what was going on in that room through the door, window and wall next to my desk.

I once heard a trainer talking about Haiti and he said something like, “If you are driving and you accdidently hit someone, do NOT stop to get help. Keep driving and get to a consulate or police station. People in Haiti will for mobs and kill foreign drivers who hit someone and stop.”

Very messed up country. I guess poverty breeds crime.

And I’m not trying to put down the Haitian people, just sharing something I heard about the worse parts of the country.
