I’m guessing that people didn’t even know what that whatever you heard yelled (not repeating it in case its something really awful) meant :P

And these two things are not equivalent.

That’s part of the problem. They don’t find out. It means ‘slaughter the Jews’. They stand by people yelling that, and they don’t find out. They go on thinking they’re supporting the good guys, and quoting horrible statistics and bad history, and they never, ever question. Not even after something like this flotilla incident, do they wonder what they just signed on to.

They aren’t precisely equivalent, but they are pretty damn close in some respects. This is not just a movement about getting food into Gaza. They demand that Israeli academics be rejected, and Israeli goods boycotted. There is a complete rejection of Israel’s issues within the conflict.

Anti-Israel activists are either evil, or willing dupes of the evil. I don’t say that lightly, but I do say it. And while I’m willing to believe they care about the people of Gaza, it’s in a remarkably self-serving way that pretty much shuts out the reality faced by people living in such a situation.
