re: #171 Stonemason

no, I was told that there was no movement as large as the TP that backed the Dems, the SEIU was just one such movement, I could have used teachers unions, or, how about the UAW? It could be argued that those entities put the fear into dem politicians, as the TP does with the GOP.

The Beck and Limbaugh comment? do not have any clue (other than from here) what either one of them are saying.
I have agreed, more than once, and will do so again, that the TP sucks. I do not understand why that is continually missed.
My point is, and has always been, that the party out of power is always portrayed as having this ‘movement’ that will get them back into power, which is a self-fulfilling prophecy due to the nature of the media.

SEIU and UAW have been around for decades, so they aren’t really comparable to the TP, a brand new organization that sprang forth after the 2008 election, fueled by conservative anger over their losses. Moreover, the unions you mention exist for reasons other than getting political candidates elected. Most importantly, you may not agree with the UAW politically, but they aren’t crazy revanchist populists freaked out because America is changing quickly on many fronts.
