I know. That’s what made the “Heir to the Empire” series so good. The Imperial forces are military professionals, not just stomp-dick foils. The stromtroopers in the first book fight smart when ambushed, moving to cover and them using their firepower to grind the enemy down. They don’t win, but they don’t look like fools either.

Don’t forget the tractor beam operator who almost catches Luke, is questioned by Thrawn and actually promoted to a section head.
