The top guy running that competition is from Australia, and he shows up on the Australian version as a guest sometimes.

I do notice that the UK version tends to be a bit more, I don’t know, “somber” comes to mind, but maybe it’s just that British stiff upper lip thing going on. The Australian version is very bubbly, sort of the Disney-esque version.

The American version, as you’ve indicated, really ought to be called MasterBitch.

Last year, in it’s first version, MasterChef US got caught in some fauxtography scandal.
