Cowards? I had a colleague in our Charlotte, NC office ask me why I didn’t have a gun for protection and I told her I didn’t live my life in fear. Meanwhile she carries when she goes to the supermarket. I simply couldn’t live such a fearful paranoid life.

Numbers are not at hand, but it’s quite possible that the rural areas around Charlotte have a higher murder rate than NYC. I won that one with my wife a few years ago, re our small AL town.
