As someone who doesn’t see Ghostbusters as some sort of a personal cult classic, I don’t think it’s untouchable and don’t mind seeing a new take on it. Frankly, the original movie was a silly comedy, and it will remain a silly comedy. It’s like getting worked up about a Honey, I shrunk the kids remake ;)

It’s like, remaking Godfather doesn’t make sense, remaking any film that is all a formulaic plot + gimmicks - why not.

It’s Hollywood. If someone thinks they can make money off a Godfather remake, they’ll do it. Maybe not this decade, but 50 years from now. Because that’s what the studios do.
