Gianforte apologized only because there were 3rd party witnesses who provided a narrative that supported the reporter. Remember, his original storyline bore no resemblance to the truth. Unless they are caught red-handed, they lie. I am very disheartened by this victory and what it says about this country, although given the number of people who voted early, it may not say as much about support for violence as it does about support for the despicable Republican agenda.
