I have to disagree with the last part. His “rehabilitation” was internal… It came from hearing his son’s first cries. To me that’s internal (inherent) to the man himself. We don’t know what he did (he could have been in jail for anything from unpaid parking tickets to murder…but I’m betting it’s more towards the former than the latter), but I doubt prison in and if itself had anything to do with his “rehabilitation”.

Oh, you’re right about his inner virtues; I was just thinking about the fact that at least he was in a place that offered education as part of the program. (Maybe I’ve been watching too much Orange is the new Black.)

I read that he was in on a weapons charge, but didn’t see any more detail. Two-year sentence, so couldn’t have been anything major.
